(Almost) Wordless Wednesday: First Dental Visit!

Our 34-month-old had her first dental visit last week. She was a superstar, exercising considerable patience and cooperation while the hygienist counted and polished her 20 teeth. She also had a ball spitting into "Mr. Thirsty" (the saliva ejector) and filling/refilling her rinse cup with water. The best part? Certified cavity-free! Well that was the best part for Mom, at least. S would probably argue it was actually the plastic suction cup lizard thingy she selected from the toy chest on our way out!

Wordless Wednesday: Beans!!

Our garden beans have gone off this year! This was a single day harvest from the other week. Two meals enjoyed already and two more vacuum sealed in the freezer!

(Almost) Wordless Wednesday: Snack Time!

Our 33-month-old is (by and large) an awesome eater. Here's a snack plate I served up the other day including peaches, cucumber, pecans, kale chips and a few honey nut cheerios as a treat, and she devoured the whole thing in minutes! People are constantly amazed at how much she can eat, and how quickly. :)

What types of snacks do your kids enjoy? Are they willing to eat many types of foods or are they on the picky side?

(Almost) Wordless Wednesday: Pick Your Battles

Our 32-month-old is going through a "challenging" phase  - she's back to beating on her brother, she must do everything by herself and "No!" has become her middle name. At times like these, we've learned, you gotta pick your battles. Like today when she refused to nap in her own bed and insisted on lying down in Mom & Dad's room. Almost 2 (relaxing) hours later, I snapped this gem. Sometimes giving in = ftw!

(Almost) Wordless Wednesday: A Not-So-Sad Goodbye!

Our daughter's most recent home daycare provider just started a new job outside the home. Bittersweet, as she's been an awesome provider and we'll miss her, but on the other hand she's really excited about the job and we certainly wish her the best!

S and our provider's son, N, were super-cute on their last day together - lots of smiles, laughs and hugs! But it wasn't a true goodbye, as they will both be going to the same new provider over the summer! (N fulltime and S part-time, just a day or two a week so I can continue spending some dedicated time with CJ.) Here are a couple pics I snapped of the adorableness!

Our little guy turned 6 months old today! Over the last few weeks, he's been getting increasingly excited around food, so we've given him the occasional taste - for example, here he's enjoying a wedge of peach from his mesh "feeder".

Tomorrow we're going to start solids for realsies! Our 6-pack of Baby Gourmet creamy brown rice cereal arrived this afternoon so we're going to start with that. (Upcoming review/giveaway alert!!),
